Feds give $697-M to Spadina subway extension
The federal Conservative government announced yesterday that it would contribute $697 million to the 8.8-kilometre expansion of Toronto’s Spadina subway line out to York University.

Here is a photo of a now-vintage streetcar which the few North American cities that kept (some of) their streetcar lines were purchasing in the early-to-mid-1950s–right around the time that Winnipeg did away with streetcars entirely.
